O__O I shock myself sometimes...challenge here I come...

I totally decided that I want to go PLKN. seriously...at this point of time, I can't wait to learn what I can there (=

INTI-UC Youth Empowerment Camp 2009

We're team no.1 and no one can take that away from us! The camp was awesome and everyone there had loads and loads of fun!! On the first day I arrived at about 9 and people were all sitting down- I kinda thought that I might be late *oh no* I wasn't(= The first friend I officially made was Natasya Falina- she's one awesome kid!! totally admire her passion and what she does; my next friends were Chris and Yvonne...the first morning was a little monotonous with the talks but in the middle we had personality games and I sorta identified my character- majority 'investigative'. The talks on the other hand, I gained a lot- there was Dr Sia A.H. talking to us about the change we can make in our family, friends, society and the world, and also importantly in ourselves. Very moving was her talk, to me. Then we had a panel of professionals mostly in the line of IT ,Marketing and Lawyer. I was hoping for someone in BioTech or in Applied Sciences. Nevertheless, I gain something from them after all- HAVE FAITH AND TAKE THE LEAP, also to identify strengths and weakness, and learn to incorporate passion and strengths into your careers. Awesome(= The treasure hunt thing that went 'round the campus was tiring and I felt that somehow I let my team down. It was because I wasn't leading right. As I lead them, during the game, I couldn't think straight. I should've stopped to think and not jump into things (how I normally would do when crafting).

Our facilitator, Justin Nicholas Gregory was awesome guy!! He's got a cool style and nice Ray Ban sunglasses...LoL...He taught me very important lessons- eat humble pie everyday, to take a step back as a leader- to see everything in the third person's view and also to think outside of the box. Somehow this made me realised that as a leader, I had very little of out of the box thinking 'cause I like the safe side. I am humble but sometimes I lose my self control in that area. I may have had that gut feeling to take a step back BUT I NEVER DID LISTENED. So in future, in any team, I'll definitely think of these three things. Thanks Justin (if you ever see this) =] The night activity- TEAM TIME was erm the one activity that I got bruises literally all over my body! The one at my scapula hurts the most! It was awesome and fun though..but it somehow frustrated me again cause I didn't know how to lead my team to finish our third task. I was disappointed and still am...I value my team- Hardith, Thomas, Shallinie, Vinotheni and many others. They were determined, sometimes more than I was and I respect them for who they are.

The second day we started off with Ms Lillian giving us the 411 on dressing right and saying the right words. Then it was the seniors' turn to speak about their life in college. After lunch we had workshops in the faculties we chosen. I chose Faculty of Applied Science. I'm into BioTech and Dietetics but I want- if possible- to major in Dietetics...I must see how that goes and all. We had 4 stations and each station took almost half an hour each. I loved this session the best cause we did 'Hands-on' with lab equipment. I did tissue culture!! like on my own!!! How cool is that?!?!?! XD I also tried immobilizing enzymes- they turn out to be tiny little beads that look like sago O__O also I did DNA fingerprinting...Plankton killed Spongebob- we found out from the match with the sample from the 'crime-scene' That was awesome...did bacteria culture as well. I was mostly the first who tried before everyone jumped in. The best feeling I felt was when I was sterilising the lab equipment on flame of the bunsen burner in the Luminar...I was aching to do more when I was done...LoL

Then we had the 'Reflect Session' where we reflect in our minds what we have experience and also thank all that we want through little notes. I think that's the second best session(= It was super touching and luckily I did not tear!! considering my history of touching moments seem to follow me into tears...then at 5, I checked out and went on my merry way home(= Mum and me went to eat seafood at this famous restaurant in Seremban town- Temiang area. That was awesome crab, fish and chai sim (mustard leaves) my mouth waters for garlic- yummy!!

I love the environment at INTI. At the end of the camp, I was awarded a scholarship at INTI that entitles me to a 50% tuition fee waiver. Natasya got 100% and I strongly and sincerely agree that she receives this. I hope to pursue my tertiary education there and became apart of their big family. AWESOME PLACE TO BE PEOPLE!!!
